Lumos Stage Combat Experience Workshop
On 17th September 2023, Lumos hosted a unique offline stage combat workshop in the ancient city of Xi'an.
In this dynamic and creative event, participants started with a slightly formal ‘name game’ and gradually engaged in carefully designed ice-breaking games and emotionally stimulating warm-ups.
It was not just a learning process, but an adventure into the art of theatre. Under the guidance of Fay (M.A. Professional Dance Therapy, Goldsmiths, University of London), the group mastered the art of stage combat and, together with their partners, transformed the theatre piece into a visually and emotionally amazing experience.

During this amazing three-hour journey, participants felt as if they had temporarily left the hustle and bustle of everyday life, building a unique trust and connection through eye contact and body movements with strangers. The process gave them the opportunity to release their deepest latent emotions and experience the unique healing power of theatre arts. This was not just a workshop, but a spiritual journey that led each participant to find a new path of self-expression in the light and shadow of the stage.
So next, let's have a glimpse of the SHINING MOMENTS of everyone at the Stage Combat Workshop on 17th September!
Icebreakers
In the tense atmosphere of the first meeting, we built up a bridge between each other through a series of fun and interesting ice-breaking games. Participants gradually let down their guards and started to get to know each other in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

Script Performance
Participants bravely stepped onto the stage and showcased their talents in the form of theatre. They not only interpreted the wonderful scripts, but also discovered the power of self-expression in their performances.

Group Communication
Through joint discussions and co-operation, the participants have demonstrated the essence of creative thinking and teamwork. These activities not only strengthened their bonding, but also honed their communication and problem-solving skills.

Group photo of the workshop
One of the highlights of the workshop is the group photo that we all took together to record the fun and achievements of the day. These photos are not only a carrier of good memories, but also symbolise the unity and friendship of everyone as a team.
