Character mapping for a playwright is a creative and analytical process used to develop and understand the characters in a play. It involves outlining various aspects of a character's identity, background, and personality.
Activity Review
The theme of this workshop was ‘Building a Character’. At eight o'clock, we welcomed a lot of friends. Firstly, we introduced ourselves and discussed playwriting with our tutor.
Highlights
After a brief opening, AJ sent us two worksheets to help us construct a character in a number of ways
We usually have a basic understanding of building up characters, but AJ describes in detail how to make a character more three-dimensional.
We also discussed the relationship between character and plot development from 3 perspectives: Objective, Obstacle and Action
Conclusion
At the end of this workshop, AJ reserved time for a Q&A session. Participants had a great time interacting with AJ and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
